Liveness Detection
Set up a hand motion check that keeps users within the app.
VeryAI is now Very.
Stop spam from overwhelming social platforms and crowding out human conversation. Very offers two solutions: upon-registration palm verification that can be authenticated at key moments, or liveness-only checks that ensure there’s a real person taking an action.
As of 2026, Reddit removes a daily average of

Set up a hand motion check that keeps users within the app.
For chatrooms and messaging platforms like Discord or Telegram, VeryBot can be added as an automatic in-app way to gate parts of the community to real people.
Very works with leading researchers (like the Human-AI Collaboration Lab, located at Northwestern University) to stay ahead of the latest advances.
Very introduces a number of protections against spoofed or deepfake results, including: randomized motion checks, camera-frame analysis, checks for issues like palm positioning, lighting, blurriness, and more, server-issued protections like one-time nonces to protect against replay, and others.
It depends on your use case.
If you have a major bot problem and just need to prove that there’s a real human at the other end, but don’t need to prove that’s a unique person or the same person who registered an account, then Liveness Detection is the better option. There’s no registration process, so there’s less friction to keep users from taking action.
If your problems involve platform manipulation, hacked accounts, or click farms, you’re going to want to make sure that each user is unique, and that the same person who registered the account is the one controlling it. That’s where User Verification is a better option: It ensures that users are in control of their account by matching their verification to a stored Palm Model, and makes it easier to root out bad actors by banning their biometrics, not just their account.
No. Liveness Detection is highly effective at stopping bots, but it only confirms that there’s a real human controlling the account. Liveness Detection does not necessarily stop paid spammers or account takeovers, for example. For those use cases, we suggest implementing User Verification.
Yes, Very follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for all personal data we process:
• We ask for your permission before we collect your palm scan or other biometric data.
• We keep data only as long as we need it, and our Privacy Policy lists exactly how long.
• You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data at any time, and we respond within the time GDPR requires.
• We only work with vendors that meet GDPR standards. You can see the full list at trust.very.org/subprocessors.
Business customers can also sign our Data Processing Agreement (DPA). For more details, read our Privacy Policy or email legal@very.org. We have also appointed a Data Protection Officer, reachable at dpo@very.org.
The friction level is low for both Liveness Detection and User Verification.
Liveness Detection adds a quick motion-based check that takes less than 2 seconds to complete.
For User Verification, users will need to register their palm with several scans that take about 1 minute total, similar to setting up other biometrics like face or fingerprint scans. Then, at certain actions a platform designates (for example, logging in), the user will then be prompted for a quick hand motion check that takes less than 2 seconds.
Integrating Very into your stack is simple with support from the Very team, and can take only a few lines of code. Once you receive your credentials, integration can take 10 minutes or less, depending on your integration path.
